The waiting list for the 2025/26 school year opened on 1st November 2024 and is now closed.
Siblings of children already attending the service will get first preference.
2025/26 school year
We have a full-time waiting list (5 afternoons) and a part-time waiting list(2 or 3 afternoons). Once offered, a full-time place cannot be reduced nor a part-time place increased. If a parent wishes to change their child's attendance, they must go on the other waiting list and wait for a place to become available. Part-time places are offered opposite each other so parents may express preferred days but Explorers may not be able to accomodate these days.
Explorers Afterschool will re-open at the beginning of the new school year as usual. We plan to run our services alongside each school's calendar. Explorers' calendar is in the Parent Information Pack.
We will be operating within the Government's guidelines and in tandem with school requirements.
Afterschool Activities run by the school
We are not in a position to collect children from afterschool activities run by the school. The afterschool teachers usually facilitate bringing the children to our room. This needs to be arranged and agreed between parents and activity teachers.
Explorers’ must be notified by parents/guardians of their child’s activity dates, days, and time we will expect the children to return to our room.
Explorers' Stepaside Educate Together NS
We offer afterschool care to the children from SETNS from 13.10 - 18.10 every day during the school year, and full time camps during 3 weeks holidays (Dates on the Camps page)
Fees for 2025/26 school year
You will find a full list of fees on our fees page.
There is strictly no reduction in fees due to absenteeism, maternity/parental leave, holidays, sickness, parents extended holidays or Covid-19.
The above fees are payable 4 weekly from September to June. Dates that fees are due are on the NCS page.
A deposit of €200 is due on acceptance of a place in Explorers' Afterschool. This deposit is deducted from your last invoice. The deposit will be refunded when notice is given before the next invoice date. ie deposit is deducted from your last invoice.
Notice must be given before 1st May each year if your child is not returning in the new school year. Failure to give notice by 1st May will result in the loss of your deposit.
